Some children are gifted and have learning, social, or emotional challenges. These learners are called Twice-Exceptional, or 2e for short.
Be really clever in some areas but struggle in others.
Solve tricky problems but find school tasks hard.
Have big ideas but get overwhelmed or anxious.
Be great talkers but struggle with reading, writing, or friendships.
Every 2e learner is different. Their strengths can hide their challenges—and their challenges can hide their strengths.

What does it look like Twice-Exceptional look like?
You might notice:
Strong interest in specific topics (e.g., dinosaurs, maths, coding).
Big emotions, meltdowns, or anxiety.
Fast thinking but slow working.
Trouble following instructions or finishing work.
Boredom, perfectionism, or refusal to do work.
Gaps between what they say and what they do.
Some 2e learners are misunderstood as lazy, defiant, or underachieving. But they often need support in both their gifts and challenges.
