SPARX is a self-help e-therapy tool for rangatahi aged between 12 and 19. It teaches young people the key skills to help fight mild to moderate depression, anxiety and stress. SPARX acts like a video game and users have an avatar they use to complete tasks. The tasks help them deal with thoughts and feelings

The Lowdown is part of a national public health programme in Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a space created with rangatahi for rangatahi. Here, you can learn, express and engage around your Hauora, identity, culture and mental /psychological health. For many ussers, nothing they view or browse will use any mobile data, meaning you can access it regardless of how much data you have

The Manaaki Ora app is based on the Māori model of health, Te Whare Tapa Whā. It is designed to help young people who hare experiencing a hard time, or who are feeling symptoms of depression. The app offers self-help tips and guidance to help young peole build their wellbeing and resilience. It also has a section on how to support others. This app is available to download from Google Play.

Whitu 7 Ways in 7 Days
White is a free, evidence-based app designed and developed by young people across Aotearoa. It teaches self-help skills to young people aged between 16 and 25. The app provides users with a 7 day plan which includes strategies to help them reduce anxiety and improve their wellbeing. It helps with skills such as goal-setting, relaxing, being kind to yourself and looking after your body. Whitu 7 ways in 7 days is available for download from the App Store and Google Play.
Aunty Dee
Aunty Dee is for 14 to 25 year olds and was created by Le Va, an organisation which supports Pasifika families. Aunty Dee helps young people work through their problems. It guides users to think about and explore their problems and find solutions to them, rather than allowing problems to overwhelm them. The web-based tool is based on structured problem solving- it doesn’t provide answer or solutions, but it can help the young person explore their problems in a structured way. It is accessible at

A free, science-backed mental health app for teenagers developed by a team of experts from the University of Auckland. It teaches strategies to enhance wellbeing, manage stress, resolve conflicts and handle negative thoughts and strong emotions. Users can engage in short conversations with virtual guides.
