Cambridge Educational Psychology Services (CEPS) B-Corp Environmental Policy
As part of our commitment to working towards B-Corp certification and aligning with the expectations outlined by B Lab New Zealand, Cambridge Educational Psychology Services (CEPS) will endeavour to minimise our environmental impact through the following policies, adapted and inspired by best practices in sustainability:
1. Paperless Operations CEPS recognises that paper use is one of the largest contributors to business waste. We will actively reduce our paper use by utilising digital platforms for all record-keeping, note-taking, invoicing, client communications, and marketing materials. All client resources, reports, and factsheets will be delivered digitally unless a paper copy is requested.
2. Environmentally Responsible Digital Providers CEPS will preferentially select technology and digital service providers that demonstrate leadership in environmental sustainability by powering their data centres with renewable energy. Where possible, CEPS will use services from companies listed on www.clickclean.org/new-zealand/en/ and will review this list annually.
3. Low-Carbon Meetings Where safe and practicable, all CEPS meetings—both internal and client-facing—will be conducted via secure video conferencing to minimise travel-related emissions. In-person meetings will only occur when necessary for service quality or requested by clients.
4. Office Recycling Practices CEPS will maintain clear recycling procedures across all locations, ensuring that recyclable materials are separated and disposed of correctly. Staff and contractors will be encouraged to contribute to a culture of waste minimisation.
5. Office and Equipment Procurement Although CEPS does not operate in a clinical surgical environment, we recognise that procurement choices have environmental impacts. Therefore:
Office equipment and furniture will be sourced from suppliers who prioritise recyclable and reusable products.
End-of-life equipment will be recycled or responsibly disposed of, with preference given to e-waste recycling providers.
Stationery and promotional materials will be purchased with priority given to recycled or sustainable materials.
6. Travel Policy Where travel is necessary (e.g., for school visits or in-person assessments), CEPS will:
Combine appointments geographically to reduce trips;
Encourage carpooling or public transport where feasible;
Offset carbon emissions annually through certified carbon offset programs.
7. Continuous Improvement CEPS commits to annual environmental reviews, setting improvement goals in alignment with B Corp standards and New Zealand’s carbon neutrality goals. We will remain transparent with clients, staff, and stakeholders about our progress.
8. Education and Advocacy CEPS will promote environmental responsibility within its client and professional networks by sharing resources, supporting local sustainability initiatives, and including environmental messaging in public-facing communications.
This policy will be reviewed annually as part of our B Corp recertification and continuous environmental responsibility.
