Practical Strategies

Supporting our Whānau

We recognise the vital role parents and caregivers play in supporting the development and wellbeing of children and young people. Our services for families are designed to provide practical guidance, emotional support, and targeted strategies tailored to your unique family context.

We offer:

Parenting consultations to understand behaviour, support routines, and manage transitions

Attend Individual Education Plan (IEP) and school meetings upon request

Support in understanding your child's assessment results and planning next steps

Emotional coaching and regulation strategies to use at home

Tailored home programmes aligned with learning or developmental goals

Fees (GST inclusive): Parenting support consultation (50 minutes): $210.00

Supporting our Teachers

At Cambridge Educational Psychology Services, we understand that educators play a central role in supporting student wellbeing and learning. We offer tailored support for teachers and school staff to build capacity, manage classroom challenges, and develop strategies that support inclusive education.

Consultation and Problem-Solving Meetings

Collaborate with a registered educational psychologist to explore learning, behavioural, or emotional concerns and co-develop practical strategies.

Classroom Observations and Feedback

We provide in-class observations followed by constructive, strength-based feedback and recommendations.

Professional Learning and Development (PLD)

Workshops or small-group training sessions on topics such as trauma-informed practice, managing anxiety in the classroom, supporting neurodiverse learners, or building self-regulation and executive functioning skills.

Individual Student Support Planning

Assistance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including data gathering, collaborative planning, and report writing.

Resource Development

Customised visual supports, learning plans, or behaviour management resources tailored to your learners.

Fees (GST inclusive): 

  • Teacher Consultation / School Visit (up to 60 minutes): $250.00

  • Preparation, resource development, or documentation: $115.00 per hour

  • Staff PLD Workshop (90 minutes): From $400.00 (pricing may vary depending on travel and group size)

Community Talks and Information Evenings

Interactive sessions for parent groups, early learning centres, or school communities covering key topics such as supporting neurodiverse tamariki, understanding anxiety, or building emotional literacy at home and school.
